GIVING SAFETY TIPS AND INFOs: Customer Service Supervisor Engr. Ernesto Lu shares some tips about fire prevention and answered some queries about Cotabato Light.

March of every year, we celebrate Fire Prevention and Awareness month. Here in Cotabato City, this year’s observance involves various information drives from citywide level down to the barangay level.

On March 26, 2011, the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IIEE) Cotabato Chapter, in cooperation with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the barangay officials of Rosary Heights XIII headed by barangay chairman Hon. Engr. John Irving C. Mangulamas, conducted an orientation regarding fire safety awareness with the theme “Economic Development thru Clean and Affordable Electricity.”

The activity was held at the Notre Dame Village Gymnasium and was supported by different civic groups including Cotabato Light and Power Company.

“Our objective is to educate the people about the causes of fire disaster that brings major disaster to many household and barangays.” Engr. Aris Love G. Guiani, IIEE Cotabato Chapter President, said.

Among the guest speakers are Cotabato Light’s Electrical Engineers Engr. Gerard V. Castillon and Engr. Annie S. Paltinca who are both residents of Rosary Heights IX.  The BFP also send their team headed by Fire Chief Superintendent Mr. Adam Ali Guiamad, MPA. Also present were Engr. Reynold D. Trasmontero, IIEE Cotabato Chapter Vice President, and Engr. Hamin Amino, PEE, a private contractor.

Cotabato Light Customer Service Supervisor Engr. Ernesto Y. Lu also gave his support and shared some tips and answered the queries of the locals about fire prevention and about Cotabato Light and Power Company.

“I felt good in giving back and be of service to the community where I came from. I could not be more proud doing it with Cotabato Light knowing that the company observes strong corporate social responsibility and gives its full support in worthy endeavors like this one”. Engr.
